Here are the national examination statistics for GCE A level and GCSE level exams in the UK, broken down by individual grade analysis for individual subject areas and the year cohort as a whole. These date back to 1993 for GCE A level and to 1988 for GCSE level. Further sets of figures show the breakdown by gender. Numbers of candidates for each subject area are also shown.
